 I have had this bird since it was about 6 months old and is around 7 years old now. The only reason I am selling is because I don't have the time to give that it needs and deserves. I don't know if it is a male or female although its name is "Marvin" so we call it a "he". He is a one person bird, meaning that he takes to one person in the family over the others. Others can hold him, but he is not thrilled with it. I would not recommend him around young kids because he gets jealous. When I hold him he will snuggle up and loves to be petted under the wings. He does talk. Most of the time he says "hey marvine" and barks like a dog. He says other things too but its mumbled and hard to understand. I paid over $2500.00 for him and the cage.
